Farm for Sale near Mariental & Maltahohe
The property, registered in a close corporation (cc), is located in the south-western region of Namibia between Maltahohe and Mariental, approximately 70 km to the west of Mariental. The land area comprises 7 750 ha and is used for game farming although it is not game-fenced on the borders. Unknown numbers of Oryx, Springbuck, Hartebeest, Kudus, Warthog and Steenbok are roaming freely on the property. The water rich undulated landscape is beautiful. Two ephemeral rivers, the Kubub and Tsub, as well as several rivulets traverse the property. There are 5 fountains or springs on the property apart from the 2 boreholes and 2 wells that are equipped with solar pumps.
There are only 2 internal camps since the main farming activity is game-farming for biltong hunting, however cattle, and small stock were also incorporated into the system and therefore it is jackal-proof fenced on the borders. Condition of the veld is excellent and the official grazing carrying capacity is 1 Small Stock Unit (SSU) per 4 hectares. In the river beds are extensive thickets of Acacia nebrowni or water thorn/waterdoring, gabba bush and beesganna. The open Savanna, with Aru trees, Nuni trees and shrubs like candle acacia, gabba bush and short fodder bushes, notably the wolbossie and beesganna, make this a very useful grazing area. Average rainfall is approximately 200 mm/annum.
The main farmstead consists of a 3-bedroom house, cold-room, store rooms and outbuildings. Electricity (220 volts) is supplied by a solar system. Other infrastructure includes cattle and small stock handling facilities and a loading ramp all built of steel.
